Training and performing at North America’s Second City Theatre, the casting pool for hit TV show Saturday Night Live, is where I cut my storytelling and writing teeth. Up there on stage with no script in front of a live audience. Trial by fire.
My own improvisational comedy troupe, ‘Mondo Bizarro’, performed at venues throughout Ireland and the UK, including sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
As a screenwriter for hire, I’ve collaborated on live action and animated films and TV shows in Ireland, the UK, Canada and Korea. My own screenwriting has received support from Screen Ireland, the Harold Greenberg Fund/Bell Media, Ontario Media Development Corporation, and Creative Media Europe.
Presently, I’m developing a number of IPs, including an adult/MA animated TV series that’s received financial support from Screen Ireland.
I’ve served as a story consultant and script editor on many films and TV projects, both in live action and animation. Over the past few years, I’ve been script editor on two animated TV series for Ireland’s national broadcaster, RTÉ, one of which was recently nominated for Best Writing on a Series in the annual Animation Ireland Awards.
As a speaker, I’ve lectured to students at Trinity College Dublin, Animation Skillnet, and Screen Skills Ireland, as well as to employees of Academy Award nominated animation companies Brown Bag Films and Cartoon Saloon.
